Alicia Bock

Dreamy photos for today from Alicia Bock. I'm not sure what took me so long to post about her, I've admired Alicia's work for years!

Cameron Wittig

I first learned of Cameron Wittig from his stunning portraits of musicians. It turns out the rest of his work is just as impressive! How could you not love the photos of every corner of his house? And this photo of silhouettes against the murky Mississippi river below them is just perfect.

Anonymous Photography

A new blog I just had to add to my Google Reader: Anonymous Photography.  An (almost) daily photo blog of Chicago centric architecture compositions and decompositions from Damon Luke Wilson. How great are these colors?

Swedish Cows in Heavy Fog

This morning I was at the Swedish American Museum in Chicago's quaint Andersonville area. Really, how perfect is that neighborhood? So many good restaurants and cute shops!

Back to the museum...one of the artists represented in their current temporary exhibit is Swede Patrick Gunnar Helin. The large-scale photos of cows in a heavy fog are breathtaking. Definitely worth a stop.

Cali Hobgood-Lemme

I first saw the work of Cali Hobgood-Lemme at MMOCA's Art Fair on the Square and absolutely loved it. The handcolored black and white portraits are so simple and done so exquisitely well. My favorite might be this blue dress. The scale of that photo is really dramatic to see in person, it is over 3 feet tall! I dream of the day it will hang in my studio.

Kate Funk

Milwaukeean (that's a word, right?) Kate Funk creates these great cards from her Polaroid photos. She also has a hilarious line of cards featuring her cat AC in various settings and costumes. Adding to the humor is that AC is actually short for, you guessed it...Annoying Customer, named after the cat in Clerks. So really there is a lot of awesome stuff going on here. You can even follow Annoying Customer's own blog!

Sophik

Today is shaping up to be quite the Monday. I'll spare you the details but the day started with a coffeemaker malfunction leading to my leaving for work sans coffee. And it's all been downhill from there.

In search of inspiration, I found myself browsing through amazing photos from Jen of Sophik. Which I think can be summed up as beautiful places I'd rather be on a Monday. A little imaginary vacation never hurt anyone, right?

Keith Dotson

Keith Dotson is a Madison based photographer traveling the world and capturing these incredible images. I can't get enough of this beautiful photo of the hawk silhouetted against the sky.

Keith's photo of Seattle's Public Market is now available at Urban Outfitters!

Collin Hughes

Incredible photos by the amazingly talented Collin Hughes, in honor of the spring showers we've been having in the Midwest lately. If only we had a beach and some foggy mountains too.

My Fine Garden

I love the mood of these photos by Shanon of My Fine Garden. The soft light combined with muted but rich colors is just lovely.

Daniel Coburn

Beautiful photos from Kansas photographer Daniel Coburn. I love the shot above; the photo captures one of my favorite things in the Midwest, a big storm rolling in across farmlands.

Buttons Magee

Beautiful photos by Rachel Sandana, also known as Buttons Magee.

More hearts? Maybe I'm more into Valentine's Day than I ever thought? Or maybe I just can't resist a lovely soft-focus photo.

F2

Ethereal images from Milwaukee photographer Emiko Franzen. I can't get enough of this cuckoo clock. The colors are amazing.
