Century House, Madison WI

Century House was the name of a sandstone building originally built in 1836 as a tavern. In 1948, the Century House was converted into a pottery studio. From there it expanded to offering handmade pottery as well as Scandinavian gifts, housewares and furniture. The Century House is now in two adjacent buildings, one offering high end modern furniture and the other more of a gifts and housewares shop. Both are equally lovely and so worth a visit.

  2. I might be heading over there today, actually!

I STILL haven't been there, and I've lived here for 5 months now. Before I blamed it on the snow and the terrible pot holes on University Ave, but now I don't have much of an excuse!
